Be Pretty in Pink is a non-profit organization that was created to share the need for resources, information, and support to young women ages 13-19 who have been touched by breast cancer (either through a loved one fighting the disease, a teacher or friend fighting the disease, or discovering some form of Breast Cancer for themselves – genetic and hereditary).

  1. Hello Miss Arshawna Warren,
I was so moved by your story on Steve Harvey and even more excited that you reside in Ohio.

I am the President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Mu Omega Chapter out of Youngstown, OH and we are tentatively planning a STEM program on October 7, 2017. We are focusing on young African American women who are leading the cause in STEM related fields. I would like you to be one of our honorees.

Since all the women featured in the movie ‘Hidden Figures’ were Alpha Kappa Alpha women, we wanted to piggyback off the movie and feature young women like you. In fact, we have confirmed Ann Vaughan Cary Hammond who is the daughter of the late Dorothy Vaughan as featured in the movie. She was the character portrayed by Octavia Spencer.

We only have the date confirmed, but not the venue. I would be most pleased if you are able to attend this program.

    Please let me know.

    Deanna Brown
